Dorsal spines (total): 10 - 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14 - 17; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 17 - 20. Interorbital space narrow and concave, its width about 1/2 of eye diameter, and covered with bony plates (Ref. 559).
